I already Jonathan's opinion but what do you guys make of putting a SVD scope on a AK47 beta?

I think it would look pretty funky. I've made a mock up in MS paint but it's not very good. So I'm not posting it.

It would only be for looks so I don't think that I'll do it (scope is 90 USD). But still, too ugly? Too good looking? Will minimise the gun's usefulness as a medium range weapon?

justcause you know what i am going o say doesn't change the fact that i am going to say it. it looks ugly to me, jut get a normal red dot scope and stick that on. much better nd can be used for all ranges apart from very very very very very very very very very far away in which most things are useless

Its your own choice what you want to do with it but personally I think the AK Beta looks ugly to start with but with a scope on it yuckkkkk.

theak beta is cool because it has beta which is short for better than ak74. and is good in CQB

completely OT....while i was looking for an idea of this kind of thing i found the site i stole the above picture from, and the origins of my hat. apperently they were the semi-official uniform of the Mujihadeen northern freedom fighters against the soviets.



so i will have to wear it while fighting the the russian conscripts invading our homeland in opov.

I think it looks cool but is too expensive and really is not suited to the use of the gun.

Its just that its hard to get a decent scope for the AK47 without putting some lame RIS system on it.

Not that RIS is all bad, its just that RIS seems to be the 'in' thing among those who like to 'pimp out' their guns.

I mean really, is this nessercary?

BTW, that isn't a SVD scope, that looks like a night vision scope. Even if it isn't that it still isn't the SVD scope.

I know its not an SVD scope, but its the only wire stocked pic of an AK with large scope i could drum up at short notice.

I think the short side mount rail with an RDS would be the go, if you must have an optic. But a true soviet comrade proud of his country would also be proud of his trusty iron sights, that are completely reliable, like his AK, and not like the dodgy capitalist optics that let you down*. And besides, threy have 600 round mags for a reason.





* Optics made in socialist one-party china will be deemed capitalist for the purposes of this post. They are designed for capitalists, so they are therefore dodgy.

Yeah, I want to expend as little ammunition as possible, unless its a spam day or something.

A RDS is my number one choice.

And the in the middle ages tying a chicken to your boils would make it go away...

Oh and I think a CYMA side rail mount is the way to go for me. Its one of the cheapest options and is also the type of mount I'm looking for. Short, small, not fancy or 'techie'.
