    Shell ?

Has to be the 155mm Artillary shell, damn effective when you have a 155mm Artillary gun, and also quite usable to make IEDs when you dont. Now thats multi-tasking Wink

yes well. round, shell whatever. that is multitasking! i think the new 6.8mm round is pretty good at doing what bullets do best. there using them in some M4s now. i had a pic of the new SPR16 but dont know how to post it.

From my point of view the more hard hitting round the better I would say 7.62/52. Although can,t be fired fully auto with out going into the air with a rifle definitly a good round and I love it and its definitly going to take your target out. For example the L1A1, M14, GPMG can pretty much rip off limbs and one shot will actually kill them rather than having to fire like 3 or 4 with 5.56. From a more practical point of view I would not say 5.56 cause its to small but something slightly bigger would proberly have to aggree with the new 6.8mm rounds coming out. For CQB would say the 4.6mm rounds because they are more hard hitting and can penertrate thicker body armour than the 9mm rounds used by the Mp5s.

Im going to be a picky bas tid and point out that its 7.62x51. And yes, i agree that if we are talking cartridge the 7.62x51 wouldbe the one. Because it is just the best power/size/weight. There are many bigger ones, but they cant be fielding in a lightweight GPMG or battle rifle. There are many smaller ones, but they dont have the punch or 1000m range. And there are many similar ones, but they are either less efficent and physically longer (30-06 or 8mm both require bigger actions), obscure (like 7.5 french or swiss) or in the case of the .303 or 7.62x54R (Russian / dragunov etc) have a rather annoying rim.

Arg I knew 7.62/52 did not sound right well you corrected me which is good. But still overall the 7.62x51 seems to be winning yeahhhh

Hm, I'd go with the american shells what ever they are.

Tests they did on goats whowed that they penetrated well but not too well and did a fair amount of damage on the goats flesh. while the soviet shell (for AK) penetrated more and spread less.
