This is intended to be a as complete as possible collection of ATA rules and admin stuff.
Who is an ATA member? An ATA member is someone who has paid the membership fee.
How do you become an ATA member? By attending 3 ATA games, being accepted by the current members and paying the club membership fee.
Before a person becomes a member current members are given a chance to voice any complaints. If the complaints are sound then membership will not be granted to the prospective member.
Club membership fees: The fee for joining ATA is $10. This is coupled with the yearly $10 fee. This means you pay $20 the year you join followed by $10 every year after that. Unlike many other clubs ATA does not have feild fees.
If you join in the second half of the year you only pay half the fee for that year. The yearly $10 fee is due in by the end of February and nonpayment of the yearly fee indictates a wish to leave the club (unless an arrangement is made due to circumstances).
Age limits: ATA accepts younger members into the club. We run our games using a marshal system, ensuring that all games are supervised by an adult.
New Zealand law prohibits people under the age of 18 without a gun license from owning and airsoft gun. They may not transport or use an airsoft gun without adult supervision. For more information see: www.police.govt.nz
Gun limits:
ATA typically plays on smaller feilds than most other clubs. It is recommended that you use semi-automatic airsoft guns no higher than 350.
The Committee:
The committee are a group of 8 ATA members voted in at the Annual General Meeting (held annually). These 8 members do the general admin stuff. There is a club representative, club treasurer, club secretary, and probably a couple of others that I forget now, I am sure they will remind me!
Games:
ATA games are organised by the committee to ensure a constant schedule of games and to avoid clashes. Anybody can run an ATA gameday, they just put forward their idea to the committee with as much detail as possible and if the committee is happy with the game then it'll get scheduled in. If you need help or want information, just talk to a committee member.
More information to come.
